Third Kulture Films seeks to create a new culture of non-fiction entertainment and media literacy/awareness, which will capture the everyday human story, around the world and back into your heart.
By name, it is a spin off the ‘third culture kid’: sometimes also called Global Nomads, "refers to someone who, as a child, has spent a significant period of time in one or more culture(s) other than his or her own, thus integrating elements of those cultures and their own birth culture, into a third culture".
Ruchika Muchhala
Director / Producer / Editor
Ruchika is of Indian roots but was born and raised in Indonesia and later shifted to Singapore, where her family is based. She studied Media and Social Sciences at The University of Michigan in the U.S. and soon after moved to New York City, where she assisted on several documentary projects including the award-winning “Born into Brothels”. She has also been involved with new media production as the producer and editor for RealNetworks (realplayer) and later for the non-profit organasition, Video Volunteers’ video portal.
Other than production, Ruchika has been teaching youth media production and literacy with organisations such as SAYA (South Asian Youth Alliance) based in N.Y.C and with a McArthur Foundation project, WAVE (Women Aloud Video Empowerment) based in Goa, India.
Adam Dow
Director / Editor
Adam is a filmmaker and Performing artist hailing from Seattle, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington with Bachelor of Arts, where he was a recipient of the Mary Gates scholarship for Leadership. He has had over seven years of professional experience working for the Improvisational comedy group, ‘Seattle Theater Sports’. With a strong background in theater and his passion for storytelling, Adam has explored filmmaking for the past five years working as a Producer, Director, Cameraman and Editor on various projects in Seattle. Adam has completed half a dozen short films as well as an animation project called “Chronicles of Dr. Time”. Asides from production, Adam also teaches improv comedy and basic filmmaking with youth in Mumbai.
