In an era of modernization in India, has the process of arranged marriages really changed? From being just a family affair between gaudy aunties and mystical astrologers, corporate owned online businesses, international marriage bureaus, and private detectives, have turned arranging marriages into a multi-billion dollar business.

In an attempt to find answers to her own dilemma, this documentary is a quirky tale of a 20-something year old woman filmmaker caught between the two worlds of her western multi-cultural upbringing and her traditional Indian roots. The film follows Ruchika as she is put through the process of an arranged marriage. Through her journey we discover the business, social behavior, psychology, tradition and the idea of finding love within the marriage system of India. She embarks on a journey to discover how girls like her, strike a balance between the modern and the traditional, and yearn to make sense of beauty, purity, femininity, socio-economic class structures to finally define the great Indian arranged marriage.
